By diverting unused, non-contaminated and non-sharp items from the hospital waste stream, the REMEDY recovery methods reduce solid waste from our hospitals. This was particularly important in the early 1990's when virtually all hospital waste was classified as "hazardous." A national awareness of the expense and environmental harm of this practice led to the segregation of waste into bio-hazard and non-biohazard categories. REMEDY is delighted to have been part of this national trend, further reducing the materials which contributed to the national solid waste problem. REMEDY continues its work to further reduce the waste of UNUSED supplies.
